I will have your child for 48 minutes daily in math, and in order to successfully cover the standards, we must use all of this time as efficiently as possible. I expect the students to come prepared to learn each day, as we will have to work hard each day. If your child has a study hall period, please remind them that this is a great time to complete assignments not finished in class, study for tests/quizzes, or work on i-Ready lessons. Grades will come from tests, classwork, and quizzes. Grades will will calculated using total points. We have a new curriculum this year called Illustrative Mathematics. Students will have a workbook to use in class and the curriculum can be accessed online as well. I have included the link above. I have also included a tab called YouTube Lessons. This has videos of each lesson (guided help) if needed at home.
Your child will also be required to do 10 Math i-Ready lessons each 9-weeks. They will keep up with their progress and will have to pass each lesson with a 80% or higher for it to count.
